Looking Forward

It's nearing the end of October and things have changed a lot this month. I have come into a possible photography business opportunity with a local photographer, Hayden & Hayden, and I am very excited to see where this might lead. Hopefully I will be ordering business cards here soon and moving forward here in Altus.

Unfortunately, Sunny wasn't working out in our we found a loving home for her. Still I miss her of course, but I hope and pray that this is the best thing for her. Shortly after Sunny left us, my husband and I volunteered to be a foster home for the Homeward Bound Pug Rescue of Oklahoma. Our first foster is little miss Gidget and she is such a sweetie. She is a special little girl and quite the cuddle pug. It feels good to give love and a safe home to a pug in need until she finds her forever home. Plus it's just nice for Reese to have a playmate :)

Today, my husband and I have been married for 8 wonderful months, and the time has just flown by! Sure it hasn't been an easy 8 months with him being in training and our big move from home, but it has been a wonderful adventure that I am so thankful for. I thank God for my wonderful husband and these past 8 months as his wife.

Recently I have started riding my bicycle and I really have started to love doing that. Plus, it is a great way for me to exercise with my knee and back issues! So, I am hoping to stick with it and get in better shape.

What have you been up to this month??? :)

It has been quite a while since my last post and quite a lot has changed. Aaron and I are now living on the Air Force base in Altus, Oklahoma. We have a cute little two-bedroom house with a garage and a back yard (soon to be fenced in for Reese). Aaron is gone during the day till about 4:30 so I am usually stuck at the house until then, which is quite a change for me! We have a brand new Ford F-150 and it is currently our only vehicle so unless I need it, he takes it during the day.

So I am playing housewife, which is something new and challenging for me. I have been trying many new recipes for dinner and I'm learning how to cook pretty well in my opinion. :) Consequently, I have also gained weight due to my new cooking adventures! that needs to change. Getting on a regular workout routine is on my list of things to do. Also on my list is to get a job, which has so far been unsuccessful.

Aaron and I have done a lot of exploring in our area and so far, the wildlife refuge and quarts mountain lake are beautiful and fun places to go to be outdoors. Parts of southwest Oklahoma are very beautiful, while the rest of it is VERY flat! That being said, it is very different from East Tennessee.

Also, we have a little foster doggie here are our house that we found on the side of the road, along with three of her siblings. We took them to a nearby vet's office and they knew of the dogs and who a possible owner was, but they told us we could take one. We have named her Sunny. Not sure if we will get to keep her, but she is a sweet dog and she deserves a forever home. She was skinny and malnourished but is growing stronger and bigger everyday. Reese loves her already, haha. Well..I suppose that is all for now...God bless :)

If I could describe this year in one word it would be "transition." So much in my life has changed just since 2010 rolled around. I moved back to Dayton, married my high school sweetheart, moved into our house, and after three weeks of marriage he left for Basic Military Training in San Antonio, TX. Not much time to settle into being newlyweds, but its the way things had to work out. Those incredible three weeks were followed by eight and a half incredibly difficult weeks, for him definitely but for me in other ways. The distance was hard..and not being able to talk to my best friend took a lot of getting used to..A few short phone calls and a few short letters. That time felt like years to me..I am just thankful that it is now in the past!

Finally on May 20th, I finally got to see him again :) His family and I travelled to Texas for his BMT graduation!!! Not only did he successfully graduate from BMT, but he graduated in the top 8% out of 706 graduates! I cannot describe to you how immensely proud I am of my Airman :) Plus I got to spend four amazing days with him...and that time was so precious to me. I had missed not being able to talk to my best friend or see at least we can communicate! Improvement, even if it is just a little, is still improvement.

Now I am back in Tennessee in yet another transition stage. Aaron is beginning his tech school training, still in San Antonio, while I am here working for a local photographer, Samantha Tilley. This job is such a blessing! Finally I get to work in the photography world on a daily basis! I'm learning new things every day and soaking in as much experience as I can, which makes me so happy. I feel like my skills are improving and plus, the job keeps me busy and challenges me, two things I needed!

Soon Aaron and I will know which AF Base we will be moving to and when...also, if we are able to have our wedding we have been planning on July is looking very doubtful, but it will all be okay. I am so thankful that Aaron and I made the decision to get married before he left for basic, because who knows when we would be able to have a wedding! And plus, 6+ years was more than long enough to wait to marry my best friend :)

So we are waiting....waiting for more information about our future...therefore waiting for more transitions to come.

Here I am

Life is ever changing....thats one thing I love and hate about it. I just married my best friend on February 26th, and he is shipping out for basic training for the Air Force on March 22nd....its coming up awfully fast. I only get three weeks total to just be married to this amazing man before he leaves me for eight and a half weeks...our only communication will be old fashioned letters..I know this will be a challenge and huge test of our relationship. Even harder, I know I have to be strong for him and not let him know how difficult it actually will be... I'm so excited for our future with the Air Force, who knows where we will be moving in August and how much life will change! I would be a fool if I wasn't at least a little scared.

I just keep praying about it...that's really all I can do. Pray, and be the best wife I can possibly be to the man that deserves the best. I love him so incredibly much, and I know we are a strong couple...6 and a half years later, here we are, newlyweds, figuring out this crazy world together. More to come :)
